Mission Statement
· To promote energy conservation, efficiency and renewables to reduce energy consumption, save money, strengthen local economy and improve the environment.
· To study, advise and educate the citizens and town officials on policy and actions to reduce carbon emissions.
· To support, encourage & celebrate actions that will lead to carbon emissions reductions, while protecting economy and natural resources.
Goals:
· To reduce New Boston carbon emissions 80% by 2050
· To advise and implement actions in accordance with the mission
· To increase community awareness and participation in energy & environmental issues
· To increase renewables
· To decrease energy expenditures, fossil fuel consumption and associated pollution
· To have New Boston follow an Environmental Management System -EMS-{a set of processes and practices that enable an organization/households to reduce environmental impacts and increase operating efficiency, i.e. Life cycle management – buy, maintain and support.}
